MarsEdit 2.1.3 helps keep drafts in WP and Blogger
Daniel Jalkut posts that TUAW's favorite blogging app, MarsEdit, has hit version 2.1.3. Mainly a bug fix update, the biggest change is that drafts in WordPress and Blogger are now better handled -- their "draft" status is apparently better preserved.Additionally, a few markup elements, specifically "#tags#" and "#askurl#" have been tweaked to work better, and there is also improved handling of URLs in localhost-based blogs.
MarsEdit is available, as always, for $29.95 from Red Sweater, or free for a 30-day trial period.

This really is a great app overall. Only thing I don't like about it is how the media library works. I don't store blog images locally or on Flickr. I just upload them into a directory on my Wordpress server and throw in their URL into the post.

Perhaps I'm ignorant, but why can't I find a Mac blogging tool that handles images as well as Live Writer on the PC side? I want a simple tool that will handle a clipboard pasted image, apply some simple formatting (left/right wrap) and drop on a shadow. When I publish to Wordpress, it should handle the image conversion to PNG and put it in the server's image folder with the necessary linking, etc. We run a technical blog, and post screen caps constantly. This is one of the few things I still jump to XP to do, and it irritates me to no end.
Someone tell me the app I've missed?

I hear you James. You should put in a feature request and see what happens.

I have issues getting it to upload images larger than a few KB, but fortunately for me, I use flickr for almost everything. I LOVE MarsEdit's flickr handling. Overall it's a wonderful app and completely changed my relationship with my blog. In the past I wouldn't post for up to 6 months, now I post almost every day because it's just like sending an email or writing a post in Journler. Just super easy and great. Hooray for MarsEdit.
