Yahoo!Sync installed with OS X 10.4.10
If you want to find it on your computer, choose Go -> Go To Folder in Finder and enter:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/
YahooSync.framework/Versions/A/Resources
Peeking inside the application and framework strings reveals that the synchronization will use a Yahoo! ID stored in Address Book and that you must (obviously) have a Yahoo! account set up in order to synchronize. It's not clear exactly what this application does, but it's likely to allow you to sync your Yahoo! calendar with iCal.

#1 said it best.. iPhone.
Since Yahoo's Push Email solution will be the primary candidate for use, might as well better integrate it into the OS.

It's not only for the Push Email, but also for Yahoo addresses and such. see here:

I thought Yahoo! didn't say anything about PUSH, just IMAP. There's a big, big difference.

it is push email. It pushes your Yahoo! IMAP mail to your iPhone

Um...
I updated my 1st gen MacBook to 10.4.10, but this isn't on my system. I've looked manually and with Spotlight. Any thoughts?

More than likely it is for the new Yahoo! Go service that goes live this Friday. http://mobile.yahoo.com/go

Why? Why not sync with Google? Google, you have a person on the Apple board of directors.

I don't want stinkin' Yahoo anything on my phone.
No company that aids and abets human rights abuses should be installed on anything I own.
